Introduction: EPDM foam has excellent weather resistance as the raw material of rubber and plastic materials become the substitute of traditional rubber and plastic material products. EPDM rubber has a high degree of chemical stability, excellent electrical insulation and aging resistance, waterproof properties. It can not only be widely used in all kinds of buildings and refrigeration, air conditioning and other industries with low environmental requirements, but also can be widely used in areas with higher environmental requirements, such as: -40 ºC~150ºC environment of automobile air conditioning equipment system. Areas with high temperature resistance and environmental protection requirements, such as: pharmaceutical factories, hospitals etc.
Features: EPDM foam has a high degree of chemical stability, excellent electrical insulation and aging resistance and water resistance, mainly in the following aspects:
1. High aging resistance:
A Excellent ozone resistance - EPDM is known as "non-cracking rubber" and has the best ozone resistance in general rubber.
B Good thermal stability.
C Excellent aging resistance -- long-term use at 130ºC, interval or short-term use at 150ºC or higher temperature.
D Excellent weather resistance -- refers to the aging of light, heat, freezing, wind, rain, atmospheric ozone and oxygen factors in the natural environment.
2. Excellent chemical resistance: due to the chemical stability and non-polarity of EP3 rubber itself, it does not react with most chemicals, and is insoluble or miscible with polar substances. It is resistant to alcohol, acid (formic acid, acetic acid) strong base, oxidant (such as H202, HCLO, etc.), detergent, animal and plant oil, one, some fat, hydrazine.
3 Excellent water resistance, overheating resistance and water vapor resistance: water is a strong polar substance, ethylene propylene diene rubber is a kind of polymer-hydrazine, with "hydrophobicity". It is not easy to produce chemical action between the two, so it has outstanding water resistance, heat resistance and water vapor resistance.
